The Atlanta School welcomes all levels of experience with a minimum age of 18.
While at The Atlanta School students have a variety of housing options. Accommodations include single or double bedrooms, shared cooking facilities, restrooms/showers as well as common gathering spaces. Bedding is provided however students should bring food and snacks, coolers, hiking boots, rain gear, swimming suits, towels, and toiletries. Students are responsible for meals. One group dinner will be provided during workshops.
The town of Atlanta is considered "off the grid" and does not have cellphone service or wifi, students should bring a phone card to make calls. Atlanta does not have a gas station, grocery store or hospital services. There is one café in town with irregular hours.
Students at The Atlanta School will need to bring enough food for themselves during the workshop dates. One dinner will be provided to all students. Ice for coolers is available for purchase.
Students will need to bring workshop supplies. A supply list will be sent to students one month prior to the workshop date. Lab fee’s to be paid with workshop fee.
REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
A $100 cancellation fee will be collected if cancellations are made more than 30 days prior to the workshop date. If cancellation occurs in less than 30 days, there is no refund.
The Atlanta School's historic campus is located on terrain that is steep and uneven. The Atlanta School will make every effort to provide appropriate housing and program access to people with known disabilities to the degree possible without posing an undue hardship on the organization. People with disabilities are responsible for requesting appropriate accommodations and helping the school assess how best to assist them. The Atlanta School is not responsible for the security of property belonging to students, instructors, or staff.
Students are not permitted to have pets with them while at The Atlanta School.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
Under Idaho law, the purchase or possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 is illegal. It is also illegal to aid and abet a person less than twenty-one years old in obtaining alcoholic beverages. The Atlanta School expects everyone to comply with this law.
People over the age of 21 may consume alcohol on The Atlanta School premises, subject to critically important limitations. Any person possessing or using alcohol in work areas, except as part of a school-sanctioned event (i.e., for an “after-hours” event, when all work in the studios has ceased), may be dismissed without a refund or terminated as an instructor. Working in the studios while under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicant, including the misuse of prescription drugs, is strictly prohibited. Anyone who consumes alcohol while at The Atlanta School at social events is still expected to exercise good judgment and remain responsible for conducting him or herself in keeping with being part of a hospitable living and learning environment. The Atlanta School prohibits the use, sale, and possession of illegal substances on its premises. Anyone found using, selling, or possessing illegal substances will be dismissed without a refund.
Smoking is not allowed in or around work areas, housing, and common spaces.
This policy applies to all Atlanta School program participants, guests, visitors, staff and volunteers.
